Why hire a pressure washer?

A pressure washer - also called power washer or high pressure cleaner - is a cleaning device for cleaning hard surfaces, using large volumes of high pressure water. A pressure washer can be used to remove for example loose paint, mold, dust, mud, or chewing gum from hard surfaces such as buildings, vehicles and concrete surfaces.

Which types of pressure washers are available for hire?

The most common types of power washers available for hire can be found below, together with a description of when they are most appropriate to hire:

  • Electric pressure washer: Ideal for cleaning tiles in the garden, facades, paving, fences, vehicles and machines
  • Petrol / Diesel pressure washer: Ideal when no electricity source is available nearby
  • Bowser mounted pressure washer: Has a water reservoir (often +1,000 litre) which allows to use it at locations where no water supply is available nearby
  • Portable pressure washer bowser: Smaller, portable version of the bowser mounted pressure washer, which allows up to 10-15 minutes of constant use
  • Hot water pressure washer: Ideal for tougher applications (e.g. removing dirt and grease from heavy machines, kitchens, ...) but uses more power compared to a cold water power washer

What else should I hire when hiring a power washer?

Always check with your hire company which accessories come with your high pressure cleaner. For example a hose, lance, extension hose, turbo nozzles, and special application brushes (e.g. patio or car) are not always included in the listed price. Additionally, when hiring a petrol/ diesel pressure washer you need to get fuel as well.
